Spanish canoeing has added two more medals on the Sunday day of the first World Cup of the season, which is held in the Hungarian town of Szegedconsidered the ‘cathedral’ of the most successful sport in the Spanish Olympics due to the number of medals – although sailing has more golds -.

They got it Nerea García and Carolina García in the final A of the K2 500 (Olympic test) with a time of 1:39.01in a regatta dominated from the first strokes by the Germans and Olympic medalists Paulina Paszek and Pauline Jagsch (1:36.92). The second Spanish duo, the one made up of Bárbara Pardo and Lucía Val were sixth (1:39.91).
They were very close to the medals Adrián Siero and Daniel Grijalba in the final A of the C2 500Olympic test, in which they had to settle for the dark chocolate of fourth place.
With a time of 1:37.50, they finished 1.6 seconds behind the winners, the Russians and current world champions. Zakhar Petrov and Ivan Shtyl. In this final there was a double Spanish presence, with Diego Domínguez and Manuel Fontán eighth (1:40.31).
In the final A of C1 200the only pure speed event left on the Olympic calendar, Antía Jácome finished eighth with a time of 45.24very far from the winner and triple Olympic medalist, the Ukrainian Liudmyla Luzan (43.23).
Álex Graneri also finished eighth in the final A of the K1 500. With a round time of 1:40.00, the Spanish paddler was very far from the Australian of South African origin Jean van der Westhuyzenwho took the gold with 1:35.81.
A good loot
Ninth and last in the A final of the K2 500 were Enrique Adán and Carlos Garcíawho with a time of 1:29.72 were far from the fight for metals, in a regatta dominated by the German winners Max Lemke and Jacob Schopf (1:27.12).
