A little over a week ago, Bertín Osborne announced the launch of his own mobile phone line. The most notable details of the project were a bullfighting logo with the colors of the Spanish flag and the chosen slogan.

“Things done well, things done right” is their motto.. The name of the company is Española de Telefonía and the company shared the reasons for its creation: “It is made up of five Spanish professionals from different sectors and with various concerns, but with two denominators in common: love for their country and passion for doing things well. (…) To offer a premium telephony service, for people who love their country, Spain.”

“We are responsible, at the same time tolerant and respectful of everyone. We don’t want controversy, we just want to take our idea of ​​a company and a country as far as possible.. In addition to telephony, we sell energy, and we will talk to you about all this little by little,” they explained.

Following the release, the artist has received a lot of criticism for the slogan, for the name of the company and for carrying the flag of Spain. Asked by several media outlets at an official event, Osborne did not hesitate to answer.

“I get the criticism, especially from the retarded. What’s happening? What’s the problem? It’s a 100% Spanish company. I’m very proud to be Spanish. And there is a drawing of the Spanish flag, which is ours. That of us and those who don’t like it, and who are screwed because it is also theirs. So, I don’t know what the problem is. Do I have to apologize because a company is called Española de Telefonía?” he asked himself.

“It’s all so ridiculous. The company is called that because we are proud to be Spanish. There is a call-center with 200 people and they are all Spanish. They don’t answer you from Morocco or from Tunisia. No, they are in Córdoba. And we give work to Spaniards. And the partners are Spanish. And we have the Spanish flag because it is ours. I am proud of being Spanish and of my flag. There is no political connotation, it is simply the pride of being Spanish. Nothing more,” he assured.
