The F1 race in Miami is advanced three hours due to the danger of storms: it is official

There has been talk since Thursday that something like this could happen and in the end it has been officially confirmed. The Miami GP race, scheduled for 10:00 p.m. in Spain (4:00 p.m. local time) to 7:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. in Miami). The teams and the FIA have made the decision due to the risk of storms, electrical equipment and the possible need to apply the USA protocol for these cases, which requires the evacuation of the stands. They did not want to take risks for a suspension or cancellation, after five weeks of F1 hearing due to the war.

“Following conversations between the FIA, the FOM and the Miami promoter, it has been decided to advance the start of the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. local time due to the weather forecasts, which announce heavy rain in the afternoon, close to the time scheduled for the start of the race,” the FIA has communicated to the press around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday in Spain.

“This decision has been made to minimize interruptions to the race, guarantee as much time as possible to complete the Grand Prix in the best conditions and prioritize the safety of drivers, fans, teams and staff,” he concludes.
