It was one of the curious images that the final left us with. The Metlife Stadium box looked like never before with a large cast of the heroes who gave us the first World Cup in 2010. Iker Casillas, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Jesús Navas, David Villa, Fernando Llorente… and Sergio Ramos.
Everyone went crazy with Ferran Torres’ goal in the box of the Metlife. In the photo they all appeared with obvious gestures of euphoria… all except Sergio Ramoswhose goal surprised him inside the box. The images show the former Spanish international rushing back to a box where the goal that gave us our second star was already being celebrated. Images that will remain to remember.
The Spanish defender was in charge of carrying the World Cup at the end of the match to the celebration area where Rodri, minutes later, raised the trophy to the New York sky.
