More than 4,000 opponents who passed the tests for the State Civil Management Corps (A2) in 2025 They continue without an assigned destination and receive a reduced salary of 1,060 euros per month while they remain at home waiting for a position. The situation has been going on since May of last year, after exceeding the July 2024 call, and has generated deep discomfort among those affected.
The lack of award not only prevents these new officials from joining their positions, but also affects their personal and economic lives. Without knowing their destination, many cannot sign rental contracts or apply for mortgages. Those affected also report having resigned from previous jobs after passing the exam, trusting in deadlines that were historically shorter.
The problem is not limited to this specific body, but affects different levels of the General Administration of the State, where delays between approval and incorporation can reach two or three years. From the CSIF union, its Negotiation Secretary, Milagros Dorronzoro, has demanded to set a maximum of one year to complete the selective processes and accelerate the allocation of destinations.
Meanwhile, The Government defends that the deadlines are being reduced. The Secretary of State for Public Function, Consuelo Sánchez Naranjo, assured in the Senate that Many calls are already resolved in less than twelve months. However, this version contrasts with the reality described by the opponents, trapped in an administrative limbo that aggravates their economic and personal situation.
In some cases, especially at lower scales, the situation is even more critical, since there are applicants who do not even receive a salary until they receive their assignment. A problem that once again puts the focus on the management of selective processes within the Spanish public administration.
