luka Modric could cross paths with Real Madrid again sooner than many imagine. So he dropped it Davor Suker during an interview granted to The Radio MARCA Tribe, in which the former Croatian striker and world football legend spoke about the future of the current captain of the Croatian national team.
Suker, who maintains a close relationship with his country’s football environment and follows Modric’s career very closely, was surprised when asked about the future of the former Madrid player. After remembering the midfielder’s extraordinary career, he left a phrase that did not go unnoticed.

“Now they asked me where I’m going to continue, or in Milan or in Madrid… I think something is going to happen with Real Madrid,” Suker assured when asked about Modric’s next steps.

The conversation went one step further when he was asked directly if he thought the Croatian would return to the white club. The former soccer player’s response was forceful: “I’m sure he’s going to come back, but I don’t know how… We’re going to wait until the World Cup is over and see what happens.”

Suker’s words open the door to multiple interpretations about the role that Modric could play in the future within the Madrid entity. However, The former Croatian international avoided offering more details about the possible return of his compatriot.

Given the insistence on whether this return would be as a player or as part of the club’s sporting or technical structure, Suker chose to remain silent. “I can’t talk anymore, I can’t talk anymore, friend. Leave a little in the air, you can’t say everything,” he responded between laughs.

Of course, he once again reinforced his message with another significant statement: “I’m sure he’s going to do something with Real Madrid, I assure you that.”
Suker also dedicated words of admiration to Modric, whom he defined as an example inside and outside of football. “He is one of the best in the world and, of course, the best in Croatia,” he stated when reviewing the career of a player who has marked an era both in the Balkan team and in Real Madrid.
