EITHERScar Trejo He appeared before the media with his eyes still wet and his voice cracking at times. Ten years of franjirrojo condensed into an afternoon that, in his own words, he had not yet fully assimilated.
Today the sky has touched: “I can’t believe it, I don’t even know where I am. Grateful for life, for the love they have given me during the ten years. Proud to have worn this shirt, to have been so transparent and loyal to all the people here.”
The hallway of the two teams: “It’s something that doesn’t enter into me. I’ve always said that I don’t know what I’ve done, but I’m grateful for this sport, for having been someone normal, someone humble. I’ve told the rival team one by one that I didn’t expect it, and that has killed me. That’s where I break.”
What moment do you remember from these ten years?: “I’m going to keep the one from the final. I hope it ends the way it has to end, but I’ll have to live through that for life.”
Gate eight of the stadium will bear his name: “I didn’t expect it. I told the president that I disagree, that there are many people here who deserve it as much as I do. And knowing that that eight is a person that I love so much, which is Míchel… But they have told me to enjoy it for them, for me and for all the people who have not been able to have that moment.”
The mural with his family: “Having my children there always touches your heart. I didn’t want to look too much because I wanted to enjoy it. It’s going to be a day that we will remember for life.”
What grade do you give to this day?: “I would do it again. I have lived beautiful moments, promotions, Cup semi-finals, and today has been incredible, one of the best I have had as a footballer. I hope I give it a nine, because the one in the final will surely see if it passes the ten.”
Until the end, with an assist: “At first I felt very difficult to manage so many emotions. But I’m also happy that Alemao made a good pass for me.”
He returned to the Bukaneros stands to sing ‘La Vida Pirata’: “I remember that the last time they had fined the club, so imagine now the second one. But they are moments. I want to have another photo there and it will remain for life.”
The coach says that there will not be another Trejo: “There are probably many. I have already told the Isi, the Álvaro García that they are making history. Óscar Valentín, Batalla are coming with a lot of force. There are going to be many idols.”
Do you see Íñigo Pérez staying?: “He is in love with the city, the group and the club. If they put a serious project on the table for him, I think he can move a lot. And the strength of his teammates will surely stay with him.”
The coach also wants you to stay: “Let him sign, let him sign first and then we’ll see.”
