The chants they heard from some fans of the Barcelona in it RCDE Stadium have not gone unnoticed LaLiga and has them reported to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission. As stated in the information note of the competition, in up to three sections of the match (minutes 30, 55 and 65), a group of the “Goal Stand 1957“, the new entertainment area of the Blaugrana club inaugurated in the match against Sevilla, sang the song “I hate Espanyol“.
In the minutes 32 and 57the field delegation of the Spanishsent the following message to be displayed through the LED at the same time that it was broadcast over the public address system: “It is recalled that the legislation for the prevention of violence in sport prohibits and sanctions active participation in violent, xenophobic, homophobic or racist acts.“.
LaLiga statement
Every week, the National Professional Football League sends a written complaint to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission with those chants that occur in football matches that incite violence or have insulting or intolerant content. These chants appear included as prohibited behaviors and therefore punishable, both in the RFEF Sports Discipline Code and in the Legislation against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport. LALIGA, through its LALIGAVS platform, collects reports, suggestions or requests from fans who attend matches, in order to contribute to the fight against violence in stadiums. Furthermore, for years, LALIGA has requested more powers to be able to fight against this scourge.
After the dispute of matchday 31 of LALIGA EA SPORTS and matchday 35 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, the following complaints have been forwarded to the previous organizations:
1. In the 30th minute of the match, a group of local fans members of the “Grada Gol 1957”, located in the Gol Sud, sectors 20 to 24, sang in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 40 seconds the chant “I hate Espanyol”, being supported by fans located in different sectors of the stadium.
2. In the 55th minute of the match, a group of local fans members of the “Grada Gol 1957”, located in the Gol Sud, sectors 20 to 24, sang in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 25 seconds the chant “I hate Espanyol”.
3. In the 65th minute of the match, a group of local fans members of the “Grada Gol 1957”, located in the Gol Sud, sectors 20 to 24, sang in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 25 seconds the chant “I hate Espanyol”.
Incident with Pol Lozano
This complaint from LaLiga comes just after Espanyol midfielder, Pol Lozano, had to close your Instagram account because of the wave of insults that he received from the fans of the Barcelona. The ‘perico’ captain had several clashes on the pitch and was later consulted in the subsequent press conference. “The respect they have for their other professional colleagues has been seen here in front of everyone, there is nothing more to add,” he declared to the DAZN microphones.
