M coach Mike Elko's third season on the helm has reached disastrous ranges after the Aggies' blowout highway loss to Missouri, falling 27-6 after main 3-0 within the first quarter, as quarterback Marcel Reed has regressed throughout his second full beginning season, throwing two extra interceptions and simply 189 yards in one other poor efficiency, whereas the Aggies couldn't rating a landing for the second time in SEC play.
Elko's post-game feedback about TexAgs' notorious message board and co-owner Billy Liucci had been overblown and led to a proper apology at Monday's press convention, which, hopefully, ends a tabloid-like controversy that distracts from the core points affecting the Aggies this season.
Mike Elko is likely one of the smartest coaches within the nation and is aware of no matter he and his employees have been doing during the last six weeks isn't working, saying "every part needs to be on the desk" if he desires to make progress over the ultimate six regular-season video games.
o acknowledged throughout his post-game feedback that present backup quarterback t isn't anticipated to see a lot taking part in time, which, actually, makes little to no sense given Marcel Reed's constant struggles, if every part is really on the desk, I count on Hart and even freshman quarterback Helaman Casuga to see the sphere if this Saturday's sport vs. The Citadel will get out of hand after halftime.
"Every thing needs to be on the desk. We're at that time, for positive."
"It's arduous to make revolutionary modifications in our present state of affairs as a result of it’s important to enable the youngsters alternatives to have success, and big shifts are going to create execution points."
After f his defensive play-calling duties to defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill, Elko can now concentrate on his CEO position, evaluating each place group and the modifications that might, and may, be made, probably together with youthful gamers seeing the sphere.
"You must do what is correct on Saturday. In some cases, that has been younger guys getting alternatives."
"There are some younger freshmen which can be incomes their alternatives to play."
We are going to see on Saturday towards The Citadel, and particularly on the highway in Week 8 towards Alabama, whether or not Elko makes wholesale modifications to the offensive and line of defense lineups, and whether or not these modifications result in stark enchancment.
