lance Stroll has commented complicated of his first experience with an Aston Martin GT3, this weekend at Paul Ricard, where lack of experience and a list of sanctions He ended his chances of fighting for the lead, in the team he formed with Mari Boya and Roberto Merhi.
Taking advantage of a free weekend following the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Stroll took part in the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe at Paul Ricard last weekend. The Aston Martin number 18 of Stroll’s Comtoyou Racing team had to abandon the race in the last position, when it was in 48th place, in a test plagued by technical problems and which resulted in more than eight minutes of penalties.

Despite the tough result, Stroll remains optimistic and says he enjoyed his first participation in sports car racing since the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona.
“I had a good time with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and despite the limited preparation I felt good in the car and the pace was very promising. I was one of the fastest during my relay and with each lap I felt more comfortable with the car and improved my times“, assessed Fernando Alonso’s partner.
Stroll’s debut in GT racing was marred by eight minute penalty. “Of course, the race was practically over when I started my relay due to various problems we had, but still it was great to drive, race in night racing conditions and gain experience in such a competitive championship,” he adds.
“I want to thank the team for giving me this opportunity so quickly and for giving us a fast car. It was a lot of fun!” and I hope to compete in GT again soon“he says, so it won’t be a unique experience for him. “AndWe’ll see when the calendar allows it.but I hope to drive the Vantage GT3 again soon,” he says.
