Former NFL and UFL player Chris Payton-Jones died in a traffic accident last Saturday night in Alachua County, Florida.
The former player, who was 30 years old, crashed into a pickup truck in Alachua County. The three passengers accompanying him were injured, while Chris lost his life, after the vehicle overturned and caught fire.
In the NFL Payton-Jones played 29 regular season games. During his time in the National Football League, he defended the Arizona Cardinals (2018-2020), Detroit Lions (2020), Minnesota Vikings (2020), Tennessee Titans (2021) and Las Vegas Raiders (2022) franchises.
Last January, The former player had announced his retirement from professional football to dedicate himself to his role as a sports content creator. His Flashflix channel exceeded one million views, with analysis, interviews and personal content.
United Football League remembered Chris Payton-Jones in a message: “A beloved teammate. An even greater man. He always had a brilliant soul (…). Our condolences to all his family, friends and teammates. Rest in peace.”
