On paper, the Los Angeles Rams, contemporary off an NFC title sport look final January, had a near-perfect offseason. It was exhausting to not get enthusiastic about what a workforce coached by Sean McVay and quarterbacked by Matthew Stafford might accomplish with the high-profile additions of Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald (who got here out of retirement), and Trent McDuffie on protection. Many had them because the justifiable Tremendous Bowl favourite.
In the summertime, Arizona Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. did not see the Rams that manner. He really maintained that the Rams nonetheless needed to fear concerning the rebuilding Cardinals within the NFC West. Naturally, many made enjoyable of Wilson for these feedback, given the perceived disparity in high quality between the 2 groups. It seems everybody however Wilson (and maybe his Cardinals teammates) was flawed.
Wilson’s feedback now look prophetic after the Cardinals upset the Rams on the highway in Los Angeles because of a game-winning 43-yard-field purpose on the buzzer. Wilson was himself instrumental in organising the Cardinals’ field-goal try with a nine-tackle effort that helped stymie the Rams’ offense, limiting them to an uninspiring 286-yard day and simply 16 factors.
With the Cardinals’ beautiful win, the 2-4 Rams at the moment are technically tied for final place within the NFC West by advantage of tiebreakers. It is unclear when Garrett will come again, when Donald will seem like Aaron Donald, and when the Rams will begin wanting just like the heavyweight many thought they’d be in the summertime. They might properly get it collectively as everybody will get more healthy for the second half of the season, however the Rams are positively not good proper now.

Full credit score to Wilson: He by no means noticed these constructive Rams in such a constructive mild. He and his Cardinals teammates definitely backed his speak up on Sunday.
