The s had one other depressing yr at shortstop in a season after they thought they’d lastly found out the place. Ever since Dansby Swanson left to hitch the s, it has been a brutal nightmare for Atlanta.

The Braves picked up Ha-Seong Kim on the finish of September 2025, and he impressed. For that cause, .

“Shortstop Ha-Seong Kim is returning to the Atlanta Braves, agreeing Monday to a one-year, $20 million contract that addressed a significant offseason precedence for the crew. Kim will get a $4 million elevate. He had declined a $16 million participant possibility that was within the two-year, $29 million contract he signed in February with Tampa Bay, a deal that paid him $13 million. The Braves introduced the brand new cope with Kim on Monday evening," ESPN wrote.

Kim injured himself through the offseason, inflicting him to overlook time. When he returned to Atlanta, he put the Braves in a tough place due to his lack of manufacturing.

“Sounds just like the Braves could also be approaching a crossroads with Ha-Seong Kim. The idea internally should be there, but when this continues one other couple weeks, it seems like a reputable 'what are we doing at shortstop?' dialog is coming," .

This winter, discovering a bona fide shortstop must be on the prime of the Braves' offseason priorities. Mauricio Dubón can play shortstop, but when Atlanta brings him again, the crew would doubtless favor to make use of him in left area. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer believes the Braves will commerce for s shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

“The free-agent market is so barren, nonetheless, that different groups may simply be prepared to pay the Orioles' value for Henderson relatively than the worth he's truly price. He'd certainly be a worthwhile mission, provided that he's nonetheless simply 25 years previous and managed by 2028. If the Braves don't have already got Henderson on their radar, they need to,” .

Atlanta would have at the very least two years of management over Henderson, however even he has stretches when he disappears on the plate. It will be an fascinating transfer, to say the least, and definitely not a protected one.

. Whereas Atlanta would have contractual management over him, there is no such thing as a assure he would ship an enormous improve in manufacturing. Nonetheless, the Braves may view him as a chance to enhance a place that has been a persistent drawback.
