Atlético de Madrid has a traditional suckling pig dinner to open the season

The red and whites met at Restaurante José María to dine on the traditional suckling pig, like every year. As tradition dictates, the new players were in charge of cutting the suckling pig with a plate amidst the laughter of the rest of the squad. In this way, Atlético inaugurates its preseason before starting to play its first games.
