Although this is not the first time it has happened in international matches, the Atlético has been the target of an attack with pyrotechnic material during his night in London in order to prevent rest at the Courthouse hotel Shoreditch where he is staying. An incident that the club has already put it in the hands of UEFA.
It would beAround 1:30 in the morningwith the footballers already sleeping in their rooms after the dinner that followed training at the Emirates Stadium, when a group of people approached the hotel to try to disturb their peace. Thus, at first they would launch a first batch of fireworksbut it wouldn’t be the only one.
After a few twenty minutes, the red and white expedition would realize that it had not been something coincidental, since the explosion of pyrotechnic material would be repeated with greater forceinterrupting the sleep of more than one soccer player and member of the expedition.
Protest before UEFA
In this way, Atlético’s reaction has not been long in coming, transferring the discomfort and the sequence of the incidents to UEFA. In this sense, despite the fact that the hotel is located in a well-located area of the city, the people who released this material would not have any impediment to approaching their meeting place, disturbing the normal preparation for a match as momentous as the second leg of a Champions League semi-final.
