Thierry Henry, former Barcelona player and French soccer legend, surrendered to Antoine Griezmann on CBS Sports after the match in which Atlético de Madrid eliminated FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
“Antoine… Antoine… I have something to tell you: thank you for everything you have done for French football, the national team and football in general. You have given me a lot. I wish you the best, that you finish your time at Atlético de Madrid well and good luck in Orlando. I know the MLS very well, anything you need about your time there I will gladly help you,” the 48-year-old former footballer told Griezmann, who will play with Orlando City next season in the MLS.
Simeone, Atlético’s coach, did not hesitate to praise Antoine Griezmann after eliminating Barça from the Champions League: “He is a genius. Over time we will realize that we have had a football genius here, a player who makes a difference, with experience and personality. Let’s hope that God and destiny give him what he is looking for in the time he has left with us.”
