Radio MARCA celebrated in style its 25th anniversary with a great party at the headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee, the home of Spanish sport. In a night full of emotion, memories and many surprises, sports radio brought together some of the great figures who have marked the history of Spanish sport in this 21st century, in an event that once again demonstrated the special connection between Radio MARCA and the fans after 25 years of goals, debates, anecdotes and shared passion.
During the gala, presented by Vicente Ortega and David Sánchez and held with the support of Moeve, CaixaBank, Finisher, Fundación Sportium, Acast, Honda Civic and Clínica CEMTROthe “Sports Heritage” awards were presented, created by Radio MARCA to honor the personalities who have helped build the great successes of Spanish sport over the last 25 years.
Among the night’s winners were Pepu Hernández, Ronald Araujo, Juan Magán, Jorge Lorenzo, Susana Rodríguez, Doctor Pedro Guillén, Jesús Navas, Olga Carmona and the COEon a very special evening to remember the legacy of Spanish sport and celebrate the best moment of sports radio.
The gala also served to highlight the role of Radio MARCA during these 25 years as a daily companion for thousands of listeners. A radio that has been present in the great victories of Spanish sport, in the unforgettable nights, in the trips, in the blunders and in the emotions shared around sport. A night to celebrate the past, the present and everything that still remains to be told.

Olga Carmona and Jesús Navas, two glories of Spanish football
One of the most special moments of the Radio MARCA 25th anniversary gala was starred by Jesús Navas and Olga Carmona. dThe Sevillian footballers, two references of Spanish football and two protagonists of the two great moments in the history of Spanish football. The person in charge of presenting the “Sports Heritage” recognition to Olga was precisely Jesús Navas, in an image full of symbolism and emotion that united two eternal golden moments for Spanish sport on stage.
Both represent indelible memories for several generations of fans. Olga Carmona was the scorer of the goal that gave Spain its first Women’s World Cup in 2023. Jesús Navas, for his part, was part of that world champion team in South Africa 2010 and was very present in the play of Iniesta’s historic goal. So much so that his name appears twice in Radio MARCA’s narration of that eternal moment told by Raúl Varela. One owner of the right wing. The other, queen of the left wing.

Both were accompanied on stage by Raúl Varela, who narrated Iniesta’s historic goal in the 2010 World Cup final from South Africa, and by Pablo Parra, a Radio MARCA journalist who recounted from Australia Olga Carmona’s unforgettable goal in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final. Four protagonists united on the same stage to remember two eternal moments of Spanish football and the role of Radio MARCA telling them live for thousands of listeners.
Radio MARCA, part of our daily life
During the gala, the director of the MARCA Universe, Juan Ignacio Gallardo, highlighted that “Radio MARCA has achieved something very difficult: being part of the daily life of sports fans for 25 years”. For his part, the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, highlighted the social importance that a medium like Radio MARCA plays in sport in Spain.

The gala brought together a good part of the people who have built the history of the station. Some of its historical directors were present, such as Roberto Palomar, Paco García Caridad, Edu García and Felipe del Campo, protagonists of different stages of growth and consolidation of sports radio. The witness is now picked up by Javi Amaro, who has already lived more than 15 years of history within Radio MARCA and who believes that the station is going through “an ideal moment to continue growing” after a quarter of a century accompanying fans every day.
