The Mishawaka Marian boys soccer crew, barring an upset, goes to get to see a pleasant and acquainted foe come sectional championship time.
The No. 2 ranked Knights are positioned to satisfy No. 13 South Bend Saint Joseph within the title match of the Class 2A Marian Sectional.
Pairings for sectional play statewide, which is from Oct. 5-10, have been made by the IHSAA Sunday night time. Sectional title tilts are Oct. 10. Regional semifinals are Oct. 15, with regional title video games Oct. 17. Semi-states are Oct. 24, and the state finals Oct. 30-31 in Indianapolis.
Marian, which dropped all the way down to 2A from 3A this season, sits at 11-1. The Knights lone loss was a 2-0 setback to Class 3A No. 14 Harmony. Marian, which received a Class 2A state title in 2023, owns a 1-0 win over rival St. Joe. The Knights scored within the closing minute of the competition to beat the Huskies on Sept. 8 at Notre Dame.
The Knights, who can even host the regional, posted a 4-3 win Saturday over Class 3A No. 1 Goshen. Marian has outscored its 13 foes 57-9 this season.
South Bend Adams begins protection of its sectional title versus LaPorte in its personal sectional. The Eagles, who received sectional and regional championships in 3A in 2025, are the lone crew of their sectional discipline with a profitable report at 9-6. Three of the losses for the Eagles have come to Marian, Penn and Saint Joe in NIC play.
The Class 3A discipline on the Elkhart Sectional is a loaded one once more. Defending champion Harmony will meet Goshen in a semifinal matchup. The Minutemen beat Goshen, 1-0, in a regular-season league matchup. Harmony has received three sectional titles in a row below coach Shawn McCuen.
The Elkhart Sectional additionally has host Elkhart assembly Penn in a first-round contest. The pair of NIC foes are slated to play at Elkhart on Sept. 30.
LaVille, ranked No. 19, is the crew to beat within the Class 1A Trinity Academy Sectional. The Lancers sit at 9-1 after a 3-1 loss to Class 2A Bremen on Saturday within the title match of the INSC Event. LaVille faces Marquette Catholic in a first-round sectional contest.
Host Trinity, which can play Westville within the sectional opener, is the one different crew in its six-team discipline with a profitable report.
The regional semifinal pairings can have the Adams Sectional winner enjoying on the Elkhart Sectional champion in 3A. The Hammond Bishop Noll Sectional winner will play on the Marian Sectional winner in 2A, and the DeMotte Christian Sectional winner will play on the Trinity Academy Sectional winner in 1A.
Space regional hosts for title video games are Penn in 3A, Marian in 2A and Westview in 1A. The North semi-states are at Kokomo and at Chesterton, and assignments for these matchups will probably be made on Oct. 18.
The state finals for each the boys and the ladies are Oct. 30-31 at IU Indianapolis, with these matchups being introduced on Oct. 25. Sport instances are 6 and eight:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and 11 a.m., 1:30, 4 and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.
