The irruption of Peter Magyar has completely turned the Hungarian political table upside down, positioning it as the great favorite to dispute the hegemony of Viktor Orbán. In an official appearance full of tension, Magyar has not only celebrated the participation data with historical records, but has issued a worrying warning. According to the opposition leader, nervousness in government ranks has reached critical levels in the face of the real possibility of a historic defeat at the polls.
“We see and hear the signs of what the State party is preparing. We have heard during the day that signs of madness are beginning to dominate them and they have been amazed by all kinds of armed attacks and the taking of public buildings.“, declared Magyar in his first assessments. A direct denunciation of, according to himself, the difficulties that his more than 50,000 volunteers have encountered at the polling stations. The politician stressed that his formation is peaceful and that these accusations of armed attacks only seek to generate fear in an electorate that has come out en masse to vote.
Along the same lines, Magyar wanted to reassure the international community and his own supporters about the integrity of his political movement. “Anyone with basic logical ability knows that a party that expects a major victory, even in an unjust system like this, has no interest in carrying out violent acts.“, he stated emphatically, pointing out that the deployment of thousands of volunteers has served to deter possible electoral fraud in the most rural areas of the country and points out that even so, thousands of attempts have been reported.
Whoever has committed fraud or incited it will answer before the law and, if necessary, will go to jail

Petar Magyar’s warning against fraud and fear
Despite the threats of instability issued by Orbán’s entourage, Magyar was convinced that the control of the “state party” over the population is collapsing. For the candidate, the strategy of fear no longer works in the face of Hungarian society’s desire for change.
“In the smallest towns people have seen that this vile and inhuman power will come to an end and that Hungary will once again be a free country“Magyar stated in his speech. The leader of the Tisza party concluded by warning that any attempt to manipulate the result or incite violence will be investigated by an independent justice system in the future: “Whoever has committed fraud or incited it will answer before the law and, if necessary, will go to jail“.
