Roland Garros has already defined one of its two semifinals in the women’s individual draw. It will be Mirra Andreeva against Marta Kostyuk. The Ukrainian won the duel with her compatriot Elina Svitolina this Tuesday, 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2, in 1 hour and 49 minutes.
On Thursday she will meet Russian Andreeva for a place in the final in what will be a repeat of the final of the recent Mutua Madrid Open. There will be no greeting between the two due to the war conflict in Ukraine.
Marta and Elina did embrace each other at the conclusion, Not in vain are they in the same fight to denounce the situation in their country and because they are teammates on the Billie Jean King Cup team.
Kostyuk could not hold back his tears when he saw the Philippe Chatrier filled with his country’s flags.
