Leo Augsburger and Juan Lebron proclaimed themselves Brussels P2 championsthe sixth tournament of the Premier Padel circuit season. In their eighth joint participation and their second final as a couple (after the one played in Cancún), they managed to defeat the current number one in the world, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, with a final score of 2-6, 6-3 and 6-3.
To reach the decisive stage, the couple led by Agustin Gomez Silingo had to overcome a demanding main draw undefeated and without giving up sets until the final. Starting as number four seeds, they debuted directly in the round of 16, where they beat Guillermo Collado and Pol Hernández 6-2 and 7-6(5). In the quarterfinals, they beat Eduardo Alonso and Aimar Goñi 7-5 and 6-4. The coup of authority came in the semifinals, beating the number two couple of the tournament, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, in straight sets by a double 6-4.
Already in the final, after losing the first round to the leaders of the ranking, the duo managed to reverse the inertia of the match. “Although the first set was 6-2 against, we were playing very good tennis and I told the team to trust that we could win it,” said Lebron. With this victory, the Andalusian player once again lifts an official title after more than a year; His last consecration had been precisely in the P2 of Cancún together with Franco Stupaczuk, in a competition marked by the absence of the top 100.
