Iker Casillas built a legacy in professional football. The former captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish National Team accumulated more than 800 appearances in professional football and has an enviable record of 21 club and five international trophies. Iker was one of the guests of LEGO Editions in their presentation of the new collection in which they are also protagonists Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappé. These last four as toy figures.

“My favorite is Cristiano Ronaldo’s”declares the Spanish goalkeeper. “Maybe it would have made him stronger”, he expresses between laughs. The Portuguese shared a team with Casillas for six seasons at Real Madrid. Now away from the playing fields, Iker will experience the World Cup as just another fan, but at this event it is inevitable to look back. “Whenever you see something related to the World Cup It is inevitable to go back in time and remember that championship that we won with so much sufferingbut with a good selection,” he declares.

I followed the World Cups and saw a captain lift the World Cup and one day I thought why couldn’t it be me with Spain,” says Iker. “By winning that World Cup we conquered the dream that so many people had,” he remembers.
Road to the World Cup final
Spain is in the group H with Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde and Uruguay and to reach the final you will have to first access the round of 32 as first, second or being one of the best third parties. “It is a very even World Cup, very different from those we have experienced before because there are more teams and more games,” he comments.
I think the favorites are France, Argentina and Spain
Argentina will defend its World Cup, and for Iker it is one of the favorites. “I think the favorites are France, Argentina and Spain“, he says. He ends with a wish. “I hope Spain manages to reach the final and we have another second star on the shirt,” says the champion of that star in 2010.
Cristiano and Messi will play their sixth World Cup
This World Cup will be the sixth and possibly the last for Guillermo Ochoa, Luka Modric, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has a great demand among fans. “When we launched the collection they told us that every house had to have a Ronaldo minifigure because he is the national hero,” says Pilar Vilella, brand director of the LEGO Group.
In addition to Iker Casillas and Pilar Vilella, Vincent Plane, Country Manager of the LEGO Group, and Leonardo López, designer of the collection, also participated.
