The Ertzaintza investigates three men for allegedly attacking and coercing a man in Vitoria-Gasteiz to force him to take off his Spanish soccer team shirt that she was wearing during the festivities in the Aranbizkarra neighborhood.
As reported by the Security Department of the Basque Government, the events occurred in the early hours of Saturday at the neighborhood festival venue, where the victim was enjoying the team’s victory against Uruguay when she was approached by a group of people. According to the complaint, The three investigated began to push the man and make threats with the aim of making him take off the Spanish national team shirt he was wearing at the time.
After the attack, the victim notified the Ertzaintza, which sent several patrols to the scene to identify those allegedly involved. As a result of the intervention, The agents identified three men, ages 32, 30 and 22, and opened proceedings against them for their alleged participation in the events.
The Basque regional police are investigating them for alleged crimes of minor injuries, coercion and a hate crime, while the investigation continues to fully clarify what happened.
