Inexperienced Bay’s offensive line is coping with accidents and too many transferring elements. Jordan Love wants a reliable pocket. Their working sport requires extra physicality up entrance. Matt LaFleur’s crew has endured a turbulent opening to the 2026 season. After shedding to Minnesota and Atlanta, Inexperienced Bay bounced again with victories over the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. Nevertheless, a 20-17 loss to Detroit in Week 7 dropped the Packers to 4-3. It additionally uncovered a contemporary downside alongside the offensive line. Beginning heart Sean Rhyan suffered a high-ankle sprain anticipated to sideline him for at the very least 4 weeks. Backup Jacob Monk additionally left the Detroit sport with an damage. Inexperienced Bay was pressured to show to John Williams at heart. That highlighted the dearth of dependable depth obtainable in an more and more essential place group.
The Packers have already introduced in veteran assist, together with Laken Tomlinson and Kevin Zeitler. Nevertheless, these strikes haven’t eradicated the uncertainty. With Rhyan sidelined and the road struggling to keep up continuity, Gutekunst can’t afford to imagine the prevailing group will merely determine every thing out.

Wyatt Teller
Teller deserves critical consideration as a result of Houston could also be prepared to maneuver him. The veteran guard signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Texans this offseason. He was alleged to compete for a beginning position. As a substitute, he has largely been pushed right into a reserve place. Houston has favored different choices alongside its inside line. Pundits have recognized Teller as a possible commerce candidate, making him a sensible title for Inexperienced Bay to analyze.
Teller is now not the dominant blocker who earned All-Professional honors earlier in his profession. His latest move safety has really been a tad inconsistent. By means of seven video games, he has performed 142 offensive snaps, earned a 69.4 total PFF grade and allowed 5 pressures, together with one sack. His 75.7 run-blocking grade, nevertheless, ranks fifteenth amongst certified guards.

That profile makes him an intriguing match for Inexperienced Bay. The Packers want a bodily, skilled guard who can compete for significant snaps and strengthen the working sport. Teller’s expertise at proper guard would additionally give LaFleur and offensive line coach Adam Stenavich flexibility as they work by the crew’s damage issues.
Day-three decide
Inexperienced Bay ought to method Houston with a suggestion constructed round a 2027 fifth-round decide. That may probably be supplemented by a conditional late-round choice. Teller’s diminished position might give the Texans a purpose to contemplate transferring him. That is particularly in the event that they consider their present starters present a greater path ahead. The Packers would provide Houston an opportunity to recoup draft capital from a free-agent signing that has not unfolded as anticipated.
The Texans will not be obligated to just accept a modest provide, nevertheless. Their offensive line has struggled, too. Conserving an skilled reserve may very well be useful if accidents strike. Inexperienced Bay ought to due to this fact keep away from getting drawn right into a bidding struggle or treating Teller as a assured repair. Financially, the transfer additionally seems extra manageable than the Nelson pursuit. Teller’s contract runs by 2027.

Defending Jordan Love
The Packers’ offensive line issues prolong past one injured heart. The group has skilled shuffling and an absence of continuity. These points turn into more and more harmful towards the NFC’s strongest defensive fronts.
Love has the arm expertise to hold an offense. Nevertheless, even elite quarterbacks battle when stress arrives instantly up the center. Enhancing the inside would give him extra time to progress by his reads. It will additionally permit LaFleur to name a wider vary of performs. That would assist the working backs discover cleaner lanes somewhat than repeatedly combating by penetration.
Teller is just not an ideal resolution. He can’t single-handedly restore each weak point. Nonetheless, an skilled guard is a worthwhile goal when the choice is hoping the present patchwork association holds collectively.

Make the pivot
Lacking out on Nelson stings, particularly after Inexperienced Bay reportedly confirmed curiosity in buying him. Nonetheless, the Packers can’t let one failed pursuit finish their seek for assist. Teller presents a extra attainable various with expertise, physicality, and a probably affordable acquisition price.
Commercial
Gutekunst ought to make the decision, negotiate firmly, and prioritize defending Love earlier than the November 10 commerce deadline. Inexperienced Bay has sufficient expertise to compete. That stated, its offensive line should turn into extra reliable for that potential to translate right into a deep postseason run. Nelson is headed to Seattle. The Packers want to ensure their subsequent transfer is just not one other missed alternative.
