For days now, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) had already warned that the new heat wave was going to be something extreme, with values of 45 ºC and with the possibility that they could be overcome at some point. This Tuesday, July 21, this episode begins and, apparently, it is expected to last until Thursday the 23rd, although everything indicates that it could last another day.
Concern about the values that can be achieved in certain parts of the country is evident, although the hottest areas will be the Guadalquivir valley, Ebro valley, northeast and the Balearic Islands. However, the warnings are active especially in the Murcia Region.
According to the European model, echoed by Meteored, in Murcia some records could be brokenwith temperatures above 40 degrees. The hottest point will be reached between Wednesday and Thursday, when the thermometers will grow even more and the Mediterranean area experiences days of more extreme heat.

Other areas where especially high temperatures will be recorded will be Zaragoza, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Córdoba or Granadawhere they will move between 40 and 43 degrees. For Thursday, July 23, these values could rise a couple of degrees more, again with Murcia in the spotlight, and only the capital could register 44 ºC, and other areas, such as Ciezathey could be 45 degrees.
At the moment, for this Tuesday, July 21, the AEMET has already activated several notices in various parts of Spain. Up to 10 autonomous communities have heat alerts: Andalusia, Aragon, Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Community of Madrid, Region of Murcia, Valencian Community and Ceuta.
