There’s nothing fairly like a highway victory within the NFL, striding into an opponent’s home and strolling out with a win. And when you’ll be able to take over their stands, too? Properly, that’s about pretty much as good because it will get — and after h (f/okay/a Mercedes-Benz Stadium), that’s the place the Chicago Bears live proper now.
However that is the NFL, which doesn’t stand for What Have You Completed These days however actually ought to. Final Sunday’s final result has no bearing on this Sunday — or, within the Bears’ case, Thursday. Precisely 100 hours after strolling off the sector in Atlanta, the Bears will face New England, after which study extra about whether or not this crew’s abilities match its vibes.
“This week particularly, you’ve received to show the web page extraordinarily rapidly,” Bears head coach Ben Johnson stated Tuesday. “We loved the airplane journey residence. … We all know how massive it’s to string good performances back-to-back on this league. That’s what the nice groups do, and that’s what we’re seeking to do right here this week.”
Sunday marked the return of two notable Bears — quarterback Caleb Williams and defensive again Kyler Gordon — and each demonstrated precisely what this crew is able to when everybody’s dwelling as much as their potential.

Even taking into consideration the truth that everybody concerned is nicely conscious he’s on digicam, that’s an impressed locker room. This can be a crew that’s clicking proper now with the form of contagious power that may provoke each a company and a fanbase. The problem now? Replicating that efficiency 4 days later.
“This week shall be much more difficult on a brief week,” Johnson stated. “(Gamers’) our bodies may not really feel 100%, and but we nonetheless must play with that very same relentless angle and demeanor play in and play out all through.”
New England, using a three-game profitable streak, shall be a benchmark for this model of the Bears. The Patriots’ protection is surrendering 300.5 yards and 18.8 factors per sport, sixth- and fifth-best within the league, respectively. After three unspectacular video games to begin the season, Drake Maye has shaken off all of the “fluke” labels, throwing 10 touchdowns towards one interception the final three video games.

It's a gradual course of,” he stated. “I believe we noticed glimpses of it all year long final 12 months, I believe we're seeing extra of it this 12 months and final week was an ideal indicator of the model of soccer that we wish to play as a crew.”
Thursday begins a uncommon two-game stretch wherein the Bears play each of final 12 months’s Tremendous Bowl individuals in succession. Nonetheless on the docket later this season: Jacksonville, Buffalo and 4 divisional video games, together with two towards Detroit. At 4-2, the Bears are firmly within the playoff image — however so too are all three different divisional opponents. The Vikings stand at 5-0, and the Packers (4-2) and Lions (3-2) at present maintain the opposite two wild-card spots alongside Chicago.
