He second day of tests for the Indianapolis 500 has increased in intensity… and in speedwith surprising records to be only in the first steps of the path. And, this time, it was nothing session without problems for Álex Palou.
The Spaniard made up for the time lost yesterday (with 118 turns in the bag, the one that most of the 33) combining short runs alone in the first hours with more work in traffic at the end of the session (the ‘qualy sims’ will start working on them tomorrow, hence his best lap without slipstream was only the 19th best).
But Palou will go to bed again today with a great record, the second best average, which he achieved at the end of the day, -in the call happy hour– with an average of 228,026 miles per hour (366.9 km/h).
Álex Palou, during today’s practicesChris Owens
Palou, if we transformed speed into time, he stayed 0.009 seconds behind Daly, was the best Ganassifollowed closely by Dixon (sixth) and with the two Meyer Shanks – the team technically associated with Ganassi – also around the top 10 (Armstrong 11th and Rosenqvist 12th). So… everything in order so far for the cars of the current winners.
Daly sets a lap of more than 228 mph
The lower temperatures -especially at the beginning of the afternoon in Indianapolis- allowed the arrival of the first big record of the week: the tremendous 228,080 miles per hour (367 km/h) on average they have placed one of the local idols, Conor Dalyat the top of the pylon-marker of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
In the same way, The pilots begin to approach 240 miles per hour (386.2 km/h) top speed in the speed traps (Palou scored 237,220), figures almost more worthy of classification than a second day of testing.

A bad sign… too soon.
Tomorrow Thursday will be disputed third session of tests… and the last one to try with race settings since Friday arrives Fast Fridaywith more turbo pressure (therefore, more power) and that will be the time to focus on the classification of the weekend.
