Movistar Team has renewed Michael Hessmann until 2027. The German cyclist thus expands his link with the Navarrese structure where he arrived last January 2025.
To date, Hessmann, 25, has competed LaVuelta 2025 as the highest level test with the telephone jersey, but it has not enjoyed much prominence. This campaign accumulates 27 days of competition after completing its contest in the Challenge de Mallorca, Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, Paris-Nice, Volta a Catalunya and three classics (Flaun Ardeche, Flaun Drome and Eschborn-Frankfurt). Now, he is competing in the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
The arrival of Hessmann was not without controversy, since he did so after assuming a seven-month ban after a minimum amount of chlorthalidone was found in his urine during an out-of-competition test on June 14, 2023.
