The Hockey Club Liceo became the first finalist this Sunday for the OK Liga title after beating Calafell La Menorquina in the fourth game (3-4), while in the other tie Igualada Rigat came back from Barça (2-1) and forced the fifth and final match.
It will be the second consecutive final for the high school team, which aspires to complete a double after winning the Copa del Rey a few months ago and achieve the league title, which it has not won since 2022.
The fourth duel against Calafell once again reflected the maximum equality that has marked the entire series. The match was tied 3-3 with two minutes remaining, with everything heading towards a new overtime, as already happened in the third game.
However, with 1:38 left, the captain of the Galician team, ‘Dava’ Torres, appeared to unbalance the tie with the final 3-4 score that gave the team led by Juan Copa a pass to the final and led to the great revelation of the course.
And to meet his rival in the final he will still have to wait, since the tie between Igualada and Barça will be decided in a fifth and final match.
Everything seemed on track for the Barça team when Sergi Llorca overtook the current champion with ten minutes remainingthus breaking the balance of the match and placing the team one step away from its fourth consecutive final. But the outcome changed completely in a packed Les Comes pavilion, which pushed the locals at the key moment.
In less than a minute, the Harlequin team turned the match around: first Biel Llanes scored the tie and, immediately afterwards, Marc Carol completed the comeback. Barça tried to react in search of a goal that would force extra time, but they found themselves with a local team well backed and supportive in defense, capable of resisting until the end.
With this victory, The series continues until the fifth match, originally scheduled for next Tuesdayalthough its final date remains up in the air due to the possible coincidence with the start of the basketball semifinal between Barça and La Laguna Tenerife at the Palau Blaugrana.
