Yesporting Clube de Portugal is the first finalist of the UEFA Futsal Champions after beating Jimbee Cartagena in a cruel penalty shootout (5-6) after regulation time ended 3-3.
Nuno Días was very clear that his team’s game plan was to go out and suffocate Jimbee Cartagena in the creation. However, in the first half, led by Chemi between the sticks, Duda’s men found two cracks in the Lisbon defense that allowed Waltinho and Cortés to take the game into the break with Cartagena’s advantage: 2-0.
The Portuguese script did not change much in the second half, with the misfortune for Jimbee Cartagena that in the action in which Zicky Té made it 2-1, With only 100 seconds left, Chemi, the Cartagena hero until that moment, was injured. He was replaced by Chispi, who continued to give security to Duda’s team, but Felipe Valerio, with a great shot, made it 2-2.
From here it was an exercise in resistance for Jimbee Cartagena, who managed to reach penalties; survive in extra time after Tomás Paçó’s goal, to which Gon Castejón responded at 44 seconds. The refereeing was getting worse and worse, but he managed not to influence the game. The final draw was reached and, after 12 shots, Bernardo Paçó stopped Osamanmusa’s shot and Chispi couldn’t do the same with Felipe Valerio’s shot.
