This Tuesday, Joaquín Martínez Gauna ‘Oso’ took stock of his season through his social networks. “A few weeks ago a season ended that I will never forget. A year of learning, of challenges, of moments that I dreamed of since I was a child and that today are part of my story. Making my debut in the elite, wearing this shirt, competing at the highest level and continuing to grow every day are experiences that I will take with me forever,” wrote the Spanish-Argentine footballer, whose contract with Sevilla expires in June 2027.
Hours later, Oso gave an interview on DSports Radio, where he spoke about his connection with Argentina, his football profile and his dreams of playing with the Albiceleste and River Plate. “My parents came to Spain in search of work and I grew up here. On Thursday I’m going to go to Argentina to visit my family. I haven’t been able to do it for a long time because of the preseason and other circumstances. I haven’t gone in eleven or twelve years and I really want to,” the winger revealed.
Argentina National Team: “That Scaloni has named me is a dream, I was always very clear that I wanted to play for Argentina because my parents are Argentine. I was very happy that someone like Scaloni had named me. Since I was little I was very clear that my desire is to play for the Argentine National Team, I work every day for that and I hope that one day it can be fulfilled. I never had any call or any approach from the Spanish team.”
World: “Argentina has players of a very high level. In the World Cup I will be supporting as another fan and I hope they can achieve great results. I feel Argentine as I have always been, but I am grateful to Spain because they have given me everything. They also have a great team and are candidates to win the World Cup.”
