Heartbreak for Evans in Chile!

Elfyn Evans entered the penultimate stage of Rally Chile in P2 total with a rising cushion of 6.3 seconds over the fast-charging Sebastien Ogier who had closed his deficit to second total to only 0.3 seconds on Saturday.

11.5km into SS15, the GR Yaris pulled up, and the crew set about altering a left entrance tyre. 2:14.8 was misplaced, as was his second total and the lead within the Tremendous Sunday standings.

“No thought [where I picked up the puncture] however is that any shock,” says a clearly pissed off Evans.

Evans is fifth heading into the Wolf Energy Stage, 48.5 seconds behind his foremost title rival Sami Pajari
