Defensive deal with Gracen Halton missed a second straight day with a quad harm. That is suboptimal, given the accidents on the place. The 49ers are as skinny as you may be on the place. The silver lining is that James Thompson was listed as restricted, though that is not a 1-for-1 swap.

“It was a whole lot of enjoyable. I am going to offer you a fast story. I keep in mind folks asking me, ‘How was it teaching [former NFL WR] Julio Jones?’ I stated, ‘It is easy. Good catch, Julio’ (laughter). No, all joking apart, you had been in a position to take your defensive evaluation and convey it to these guys when you had been studying how you can be an excellent offensive coach and the element and every little thing that is required. That goes into scoring touchdowns and staying on the sphere and manufacturing first downs. Being round Kyle that first yr on offense, it was actually the philosophy of what we’re attempting to do on soccer video games and the way we’ll go on the market and assault folks. I had a lot enjoyable having the ability to be over there with the likes of Kyle Shanahan, [Green Bay Packers head coach] Matt LaFleur, [Arizona Cardinals head coach] Mike LaFleur was on that workers, [Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator] Mike McDaniel. It was a bunch of actually nice coaches that had been educating me the backend. And within the frontend, you had all the fellows on the entrance finish like [assistant head coach/offensive line coach] Chris Foerster and people guys simply educating you what it was like within the run recreation and what the foundations had been and every little thing that was required to go on the market and attain what we needed to get achieved. You possibly can’t assist however carry that again to protection whenever you had to return over there. So, once I was ready to return and actually formulate how I see the sport, how I really feel the sport, the way you need to make your gamers really feel the sport, that philosophy actually helped me loads to develop. I feel every little thing from the start was actually useful for me when it got here to offensive soccer.”
49ers Week 5 Trench Grades: The duality of all of it (paywall)
“This week was outlined by Gracen Halton dominating and Connor Colby getting dominated. After an encouraging begin, Colby is formally an issue. Seattle attacked him, and what’s significantly cool is that I used to be in a position to actually monitor that successfully.
Commercial
As a result of I logged Byron Murphy II and Leonard Williams as elite gamers (identical for Demarcus Lawrence within the run recreation), we had been in a position to establish that Seattle acquired Colby remoted towards considered one of that elite pairing constantly. And he constantly misplaced. It is one of many cooler reflections of tape to knowledge up to now this season…..Keion White was a menace, and Romello Top may be very clearly beginning to cook dinner, membership and all. Mykel Williams additionally had a primary bull rush stress that turned White’s sack. It is value noting that Williams completely performed on the sting this week. That is easing him again into it. I might be surprised if that does not change because the season goes.”
