It was simply 5 weeks in the past that media shops had been publicly claiming the Dallas Cowboys had gained the Micah Parsons commerce. After a contract dispute lasted the whole summer time of 2025, a disgruntled Jerry Jones traded a disgruntled Micah Parsons to the s in trade for 2 first-round draft picks and DT Kenny Clark. Dallas parlayed the additional 2027 first and a 2026 second-round decide, sending them to the New York Jets for DT Quinnen Williams on the commerce deadline.
After Williams returned to elite DT standing within the again half of 2025 and with a brand new extension in hand to be the centerpiece of the Christian Parker's new protection, rags began exalting the Cowboys because the winner of the massive trade. That had quite a bit to do with Parsons' torn ACL, an harm from which he has nonetheless but to retun to the sphere, lacking the membership's Week 6 rematch. But nonetheless, 5 video games into the season, Williams and Clark have been less-than-good in Parker's scheme, and although Parsons hasn't seen a snap, these takes of profitable the commerce must be paused, if not walked again fully.
It's even to the purpose that within the train of selecting one participant from the opposition to hitch the Cowboys, Micah Parsons remains to be the decide.
Gimme him.
The Cowboys might desperately use an infusion of pass-rush acumen on their workforce. Their sack totals are ridiuculously low on the season (5 via 5 video games) and opposing quarterbacks have over a 120 passer score in opposition to their protection. Clear pockets are the norm, strain is a rarity and with a suspect secondary behind them, they’re a recipe for a catastrophe.
Parsons isn't wholesome, however including him for the rest of the season would at the very least give hpe past rookie Malachi Lawrence, who’s in line to get extra snaps transferring ahead. Alongside the way in which, Dallas traded for Packers edge Rashan Gary and that's been an abject catastrophe. Nothing the workforce has tried to conjure up edge strain has labored.
Parsons has 65 profession snaps in 77 profession video games, and although he will not be full energy as soon as he returns to the sphere, his latest phrases of the care he's taking to ensure he doesn't endure a compensation harm are telling to his dedication to hit the sphere working.
He's even mentioned that if the Tremendous Bowl was this weekend, he'd be on the sphere. Of all of the issues ailing the Dallas Cowboys proper now, their largest lacking piece is the one they traded away beneath the foolish guise of "enhancing the run protection," which coincidentally is the worst within the league, nonetheless.
